The + in Eten Glofiish X500+ refers to its main 3 enhancements over the previous model. In this model, it comes with:
- Windows Mobile 6 operating system,
- auto macro focus camera
- higher resolution display
The X500+ has built in Windows Office Mobile applications, instant messaging contacts and Hotmail synchronisation via Windows Live.
The auto macro focus enhancement of the X500+’s camera supports the Namecard Manager software, with which you can update your contact database. Just snap a picture of a namecard and the software will read and translate the information in your photo into text before storing in your contact list.
The most significant enhancement to the X500+ is the display. With a 640×480 resolution- twice as good as most PocketPCs. With a 2.8 inch screen, you will have a great view when browsing the Web. You will be able to scroll less and read more.
The GPS that comes with it is solid. With GPS signal acquisition time that can be as quick as two to three seconds. Battery life is alright. It will take you about a day and half to use up the battery juice.
The only frustration is its lack of 3G suport. Ii is still a 2.5G device with quadband GSM with enhanced GPRS wireless connectivity.
